ZedX Inc. Celebrates Milestone 25th Year Anniversary

This year marks the 25th anniversary for ZedX, Inc., headquartered in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. ZedX was founded by Dr. Joe Russo with a vision to provide innovative, information technology (IT) products and services to industry, government, and university. As Chairman and CEO, Keith A. Wheeler proudly notes, “ZedX employees, throughout its quarter-century history, have worked creatively with partners to bring practical solutions to clients so that they can work smarter, faster and more competitively in a technologically, changing world.”

Since its’ founding in 1987, ZedX and its partners have pioneered innovative solutions for the agricultural industry around the world. These innovations include the first high resolution (Hi-Rez) weather data for geographic information systems (GIS) applications. The first high resolution (1 km) automated weather and pest prediction service for agriculture and turf industries (E-Weather) through the SkyBit TM partnership with Meso Inc. of Troy, New York. The first web-based, agricultural decision support service called HighQ in collaboration with Willard AgriService of Frederick, Maryland. The first Internet-linkage of soil labs in a web-based, precision agricultural service called AgFleetTM. The first international web-based, early warning system for invasive agricultural species called IPMPIPE. The first web-based, Mexican pest monitoring system with smartphone support for data entry called SCOPE. The first web-based, education tool dedicated to the model simulation of pest development and movement. The first integration of modeling and imagery into a real-time service called “Cropforecaster “ with AstriumGeo of Toulouse, France. ZedX, in collaboration with the Keystone Center of Colorado, has recently been a leader in the design and development of a field-scale sustainability tool for growers called the Field to Market Fieldprint Calculator.

Brian Antonucci, Chief Operating Officer, unveiled a special logo to commemorate the company's achievements over the past 25 years. Brian said “the logo will serve as a milestone that affirms the integrity and values, which were ingrained by Joe since the beginnings of the company. It will also serve as a launching point for the next twenty-five years of innovative endeavors.”

“Whether one day or twenty-five years, the power of the ZedX business model is the team effort of employees, partners, and clients,” stresses Joe. He goes on to acknowledge the contributions that former and current employees have made to the success of the company. He concludes “that it has been a ‘labor of love’ over the past years to work on behalf of growers and other professionals in the agricultural and environmental industries.
